My hiking expedition to Peru took me from the lush lowlands of the Amazon near Puerto Maldonado to the high peaks of the Sacred Valley along the Lares Trek, culminating in the awe-inspiring ruins of Machu Picchu. In the Amazon, I explored one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, where scarlet macaws, capybaras, monkeys, and caimans thrive in vibrant rainforest habitats. Trekking through the Andes, I passed through remote villages, alpine lakes, and mountain passes. Standing at Machu Picchu, I was struck not only by its cultural significance but also by the interconnectedness of Peru’s natural and human history. This journey reinforced my passion for capturing the beauty and fragility of wild places through storytelling, connecting audiences to both the biodiversity of the Amazon and the enduring spirit of the Andes.
